Cultivation of Pearl Millet Crops

  • Pearl Millet is also Known as Bajra, Sajje, Kambu, Kambam, Sajjalu, Bajri

  • Pearl Millet Can be grown in a variety of soils. However, Clay, sandy and loamy soils with a pH range of 4-6.5 are suitable. Also the Soil should be well trained and well aerated. The weather temperature 20-28 oC is most favorable.

  • Pearl Millet crop matures in about 80-100 days and yield 1.2 to 2 MT per acre in moderate climate and depending on the varieties.
